What's in a Name?

What's in a name? Well, the founders of our company, during several comprehensive road-trip tours of the United States, listened with great interest to local stories and had the pleasure of many actual sightings of that loveable rogue, the Coyote, and thus it became quite apparent that the traits of the Coyote could easily be applied to our security products - hence the name, Coyotex.

Coyotes are native to North America and commonly found in the western low deserts and valleys but, due to human changes of living, sightings are now also frequently made in the east - from Florida to New England. The Coyote is a member of the dog family and similar in size to a medium Collie dog. At night, Coyotes howl and emit a series of short, high-pitched yips. The howl is a communicative sound, a clear announcement that "I am here and this is my patch."

Coyotes are not your average dog - they are very smart and sometimes dangerous, superbly adaptable, adventurous and bold. They are not to be trifled with.

In the spiritual, human and animal universe of the Native American Navajo tribe, Coyote holds centre stage as a troublemaker, wise counsellor, cultural hero and powerful deity.

Like the Coyote, our security products also take centre stage, but in our case, it is in the fight against the criminal!
